Where we stand

We'll be straight with you: Ayrwen is not a fully sustainable brand yet. The products we carry today are steps in a direction, not the destination. We think that honesty matters — especially in a space where "eco" and "natural" get applied to things that don't always earn those words.

What we can tell you is this: every product we add to Ayrwen is evaluated against a simple question — is this better? Better ingredients. Better packaging. Better for the person using it and better for what happens after they're done with it. Not perfect. Just better than what came before.

What we're working toward

The longer vision behind Ayrwen is a materials problem.

Most personal care packaging — bottles, tubes, toothbrush handles — is made from plastics that don't biodegrade. They accumulate. They persist. And the alternatives that exist today are still catching up to the performance and cost of conventional plastic.

We're researching whether agricultural byproducts — specifically wheat straw, one of the most abundant crop residues in the world — can be processed into viable packaging alternatives for personal care products. This is genuinely hard science. The answers aren't all there yet. But the question is worth asking, and we're asking it seriously.
